IN MEMORIAM: Gordon Thompson

It is with great sadness that Nventure acknowledges the passing of long-serving Director and former Chair, Gordon Thompson, of Port Hope, Ontario.

Gordon was a brilliant, generous and selfless volunteer member of Nventure’s Board who served with distinction since 2016, making lasting and indelible contributions to organizational governance. He led us through the Ontario Corporations Act transition as well as contemporizing our constating documents as we moved from being Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation to Nventure Business Development Corporation, with renewed By-Laws and Articles of Amendment.

His presence on a diversity of committees and his guidance during an era of high impact in our mission to advance economies and communities through innovation and entrepreneurship will be long remembered and honoured by all.

“Gord had an amazing career and his work and dedication to our board was so very valuable,” said Jason Ewart, current Chair of Nventure. “He will be missed.”

Non-profit organizations are especially indebted to volunteers like Gordon Thompson who wholeheartedly contribute their talent, experience and skill in pursuit of a collective mission. On behalf of everyone at Nventure, we would like to convey our deepest condolences to Gordon’s family, friends and colleagues at this time.
